Arthouse Productions Show...

I dropped my paintings off yesterday...pretty cool. I priced my work, but it was really hard b/c I don't like to give them up. But then again it encourages me to keep making more. I still have paintings from college...20 yrs ago...and they're just collecting dust in the attic. I guess if someone likes something I paint, they should have it. Otherwise in another 20 yrs my attic will be full!

Jersey City Artist Studio Tour

THE 2011 JERSEY CITY ARTIST STUDIO TOUR WILL TAKE PLACE SATURDAY OCTOBER 1ST AND SUNDAY OCTOBER 2ND 12NOON – 6PM

I will have 4 paintings at ArtHouse Productions. yeah.

Middle School #4 will also have a community day of art & music 12pm-3pm. Community art projects focused on good will towards others, face painting, glitter tattoos & music! Everyone's welcome!

JCAST features hundreds of artists at nearly 100 locations. All events are free and open to the public and there is truly something for everyone. The Studio Tour unites Jersey City’s artists, art groups, galleries and more to create an outstanding weekend for all to celebrate our talented and vibrant artistic community.

I've spent the better part of the day updating and adding to my website. I have added Art Projects & Lessons, with downloadable lesson sheets with images. I've also added my winter classes.

Lots of Things Happening...

School started up this week...I'm happy to be back. I love working with students, it's very fulfilling. I've been planning out lessons & setting up my art room. I really have so much to do this month...Oct 1 & 2 is the Jersey City Artist Studio Tour, and I'll be promoting my student's work at MS #4 on Saturday, Oct 1st. Art House Productions accepted 4 of my paintings into their art show...called "Old Skool". My portrait of Malik was accepted, so I want to plan to be there with him. When I get the details I'll post them. I am also presenting "The Power of Graffiti" at the statewide Art Educators Conference in New Brunswick on Monday, Oct 3rd. I plan to share what I'm doing in Jersey City and hopefully spread my love of all things graffiti. And finally I will be collaborating with Cheesequake Farms in Old Bridge...my students will be making a graffiti city scene based on the story "Country Mouse, City Mouse". We are obviously the "City Mouse". We are going to spray paint about 25 pumpkins, make a city backdrop & build a giant hip hop mouse. Our display will be viewed by thousands of people & school groups who go to the farms for hayrides & pumpkin picking! Rock on!
