I'm excited with the new direction my art is taking. I've been experimenting like crazy thanks to the acrylic class I'm in. I love the glazing, pouring & photo transfer techniques. Lots more to come....
Summer is the time I get to do all the things I don't have time for during the school year. I'm taking an Acrylic Painting Class with Amy Faris, artist/professor. She is a Liquitex expert, and every class we learn a new technique using acrylics and mediums. I'm learning a ton, and already applying what I learn to my current paintings. Tomorrow we are doing image transfers and pouring. Below are some pics of what I've done so far. I've also been teaching classes at The Creative Art Center in Thompson Park, Lincroft, NJ. Pictures below are from my 3 day mixed media class. I've also started a new series...I'm calling it "Urban Landscapes" I'm getting away from my portrait work and going more organic. I've been wanting to do this for a while. The following works are based on a photo I took in Costa Rica last Nov. I think they're guavas. |
