Spent the day airbrushing with students. I'm starting to learn a little better. I am determined to master this medium...you know what I'll be doing all summer. Bought a sketchbook this wk at Blick. My goal is to fill it up by the end of summer. I'd like to practice what I preach to students & do it along with them. Also got some good quality marker paper. I want to buy blendable markers & learn how to use them properly so I can teach my students. I got a few new graffiti books in the mail...I'm excited to look thru them this wkend on the beach. Going down to Lavallette to relax after a very busy month.
Everything Jersey City Festival on Central Ave in the Heights. Urban Art & Art Club will be selling our items & doing graffiti names. We're also going to offer temporary tattoos in glitter. Come check us out!
goto: http://www.jcheights.com/atwork-EJCF_2010.shtml Friday I took my 8th grade group to 5Ptz in Queens. It was quite an adventure. It was cool... we took the subway in (I don't miss this) and found our way to the graffiti mecca. It's always priceless to watch my students' faces when they see something for the 1st time...they loved the graffiti and went nuts looking at all the detail. And meeting Meres One, who showed us around was definitely a treat. We even got a spot on the building to create a design...granted, we weren't that good...but the kids had fun anyway. It was a day to remember!
check out www.ms4urbanart.weebly.com to see more pics. Look under 5ptz page. Ilove going into the city on Sunday mornings. There's no traffic and it's easy to find a parking spot on the street. This past Sunday I spent the day at the South Street Sea Port. It was perfect weather which made it nice to walk around. I took a few pics with my husband's camera (I left mine at school), and I saw lots of interesting art that has given me new ideas. I love days like this!
