I've been working almost non-stop...finished another self portrait. This one's about how love, pain and anger are so closely intertwined.
I was looking thru really old portfolios of mine...Wow, I kept drawings from 1986! Below are works from college & from when I lived in Manhattan ('90-'93)
It was too hot to help build the deck outside this wkend, so I spent it painting & working on other things. Posted new images under "work in progress". Played around w/ the airbrushes last wkend in the garage...even tho it was ungodly hot & humid. I think I'm meant for California weather. Anyway, check out my latest.
Spent 1/2 the day yest. working on Rashawn's skin tone, & started to cut out a background stencil I drew. Today went into the attic to pull out my easel, which hasn't seen the light of day for yrs. I'm starting a new painting of myself from when I was little. I'm going from old photos so the quality is poor...even photoshop couldn't really help it. I'll have to combine facial features from other photos...it will be challenging. I'm trying new techniques w/ all my work, so I used the art-o-graph to blow up the image of myself. I went into my cobwebby basement, not my favorite place, but it worked. New pics. are posted under "work in progress".
Wow, summer's moving right along...I've taken a little art break, but now want to be super productive again. I've got a lot of goals for myself over the next 8 wks...learn photoshop & illustrator, get better at figuring out those darn airbrushes, finish student portraits, paint something for myself, and learn some Italian. My husband and I are taking an exciting trip...we're going to Italy for 2 wks. I promised him we'd go some day, and the some day came up! I can't wait to see the art in Rome & take in the scenery along the Amalfi Coast. I want to check out the underground art scene in Italy...it'd be interesting. Anyway, as you can see I don't relax too much when school's out. I've got lots to do. I've decided I'm going to post 1x/wk and upload all new artwork etc. to keep me motivated & focused. Until then...
