I've been channeling all my stress and feelings into my art over the past few wks. It's the only thing keeping me sane. I dropped off art work in Red Bank & Jersey City today for upcoming group shows, and managed to finish a painting titled "The Space Between Us". I'd move right into my next one, but if I don't eat something, I'll drop! I think I'm starting to believe in myself, that I'm creating something good here. I can be my own worst enemy with self doubt in those quiet moments. But I've been working hard to keep my passion alive. I'm not gonna let anyone put it out.

I was able to dedicate most of my weekend to creating art. I've been getting a number of pieces ready to hang in 2 upcoming art shows, and started a new mixed media portrait. I'll be showing 4 paintings at Art House Production March 2nd-25th. The show is called "Progression". In my artist statement I wrote how much the world of art has changed over the past 20 yrs, & how it's effected my work. One of my pieces is from my BFA show back in 1990....I'm not crazy about the art I did back then. A lot of it is a reflection of the inner turmoil I was experiencing, and I don't like to be reminded of it. But it is exciting to see how I've grown over the past 20 yrs as a person & artist. If I had the money & time, I'd go back to graduate school for an MFA. I would love to soley focus on developing my art! The 2nd show I'm dropping work off to is located in Red Bank. Gallery U is having a show called "Awakenings". This gallery is unique in that it serves as a vocational rehab for persons recovering from traumatic brain injuries. I think it's a fabulous place!
