Paint Your Pet 2.5 hrs: $50

Create a one of a kind, mixed media portrait of your pet. Starting with a black and white print on watercolor paper, you will use acrylic paints, stencils and paint pens to bring the portrait to life. Options for matting and framing your finished work will be discussed. Finished portraits are on 8 .5” x 11” watercolor paper. You must email instructor a clear photo of your pet 5 days prior to class. Image needs to be high resolution, at least 1000 x 1000 pixels. The higher resolution, the better. Have you ever wondered how artists create layered images in their work? In this series you will find out as we experiment with gelli printing, stenciling, collaging, painting and drawing on a variety of papers and fabric. Each class will focus on a variety of techniques where you will have the time to experiment and create unique works of art.

Gelli Plate Printing: Free & Wild 3 Hr Class: $50 July 7th: 10:30am-1:30pm
Learn to create unique, hand-made papers with amazing color, textures and layers. Printing on a Gelli plate is a form of monoprinting, and is a quick and easy way to make your own decorated paper. Join us as we learn how to make and use a variety of stencils, masks, and mark making tools to create one of a kind designs. Each participant will have their own gelli plate to experiment on, and acrylic paints, mediums and papers will be provided. Ideas on how to turn your hand-made papers into creative projects will be discussed and samples will be available for you to see. All supplies included in the price of the class.

Gelli Print & Painted Prayer Flags 3 Hrs: $50 July 21st: 10:30am-1:30pm
Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. It is believed that the prayers and mantras are blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion, bringing benefit to all. In this workshop you will create a personal string of 5 fabric prayer flags using gelli plate printing, painting, and drawing. We will start by focusing on the messages or prayers you want to radiate out in your life, and onto those around you. I will provide a variety of symbols related to prayer flags, world religions, and qualities of character, but feel free to bring your own images to use. Buddha Mixed Media Canvas 3Hrs $50 July 28th: 10:30am-1:30pm
Learn to incorporate mixed media art techniques to create a visual reminder to “breathe” and be mindful. Join us as we collage and paint a 12”x 12” mixed media Buddha image on canvas. We will start by collaging our canvases and build up interest and texture by adding layers of subtle stenciling. On top we will stencil a Buddha design and adorn with a metallic glaze. Choose from a variety of papers and paint colors that promote peace and serenity. Embellish your canvas by adding metal foil details and beads. All supplies included in price.

Art journals are a creative way to explore memories, feelings, hopes and dreams. Creating your own journal is a fun and easy way to personalize your journey. In this class, you be able to make unique, colorful journal pages using acrylic paints and mediums. Join us as we learn how to paint, stencil, stamp and collage mixed media paper that will be the base for our journals. We will start with an overview of color schemes, and a variety of painting, stenciling and stamping techniques will be demonstrated. When pages are complete and dry, learn how to stitch them together with a Kettle Stitch. All supplies included in the price of the class.

“Softies” (plush/ stuffed critters) have become very popular with people of all ages. In this class students will enjoy designing their own little creatures to paint, sew & stuff. We will start by painting fabric using acrylic paints, stencils, stamps and other mark making tools. Once the fabric is dry, we will trace and cut the “softie” pattern and hand stitch our creature together. Once stuffed, we will add eyes, a mouth, and other embellishments. We will be using acrylic paint and paint pens, so please wear play clothes or bring an apron. All supplies included in price.
